1. Pet photos on the shores of Lake Balaton
If you’re already enjoying Lake Balaton with your most photogenic travelling companion, it’s time to show off the cuteness factor in your photos! In the surroundings of Platán Hotel you will find beautiful locations: sunset on the beach with the Tihany Peninsula in the background, the panorama of the Kőhegy Lookout or the heart of Balaton statue. 2. Forest hikes around Zamárdi
A leisurely walk in the forest, where your dog happily leads the way and it’s suitable even for young children – the winding path running through the loess hills south of Zamárdi is just like that. Along the way you can visit places such as Szamárkő, the Red Cross, the Kőhegy Lookout or the Iron Cross, from where you can enjoy a fabulous panorama of Lake Balaton. The hike towards Szántód can be converted into a shorter or longer loop, depending on how much you want to do it – and you can also stop off at the local open-air museum, the local history house or Szántódpuszta.
3. Dog-friendly beach at Mirabella Camping
Splashing around on Lake Balaton, in a safe environment where your dog is happy to run into the water? This is the dog-friendly beach of Mirabella Camping. Pets can also travel on the ferry, all you need is a dog ticket.

For something really special, head to the Tulip and Lavender Park at Kőröshegy – pet-friendly, sunny hillsides and a sea of flowers to photograph. The lavender season begins on June 1st and lasts for two months, offering an unforgettable experience filled with scents, colours, and tranquility.
